Andy, my husband and sherpa, recently took me to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I absolutely love tulips and since they are difficult to grow in my southern garden, I had long wanted to go to the place known worldwide for growing them. I was not disappointed. The world's only floating flower market is located in the city of Amsterdam. It began in the 1860's and is still a busy flower market for the city. 
The only problem was that I couldn't take bouquets home with me! Can you imagine living within walking distance of this incredible market? I would spend way more than I should, in time and money at the Bloemenmarkt (Dutch for "flower market"). Here I am, fascinated by the amazing variety available here.
