I'm doing laundry today. In between homeschooling, crafting, cooking, and all the other things that need doing in a day, I'm washing clothes. As long as I get to use my clothesline, laundry is one of my favorite chores. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for my dryer. It makes all the difference on cool, humid days here in the south when nothing will dry and it keeps that "aluminum siding" feeling away from our jeans.
But there's just nothing like hanging clothes outside to spend the day, dancing in the breeze and basking in the sun. The house smells so good when our things have been line-dried. No dryer sheet can duplicate that.
Excuse me, the washer just beeped. I have to go outside.
You are so lucky to have a clothes line. Hubby has been promising me one for a couple of years now. I think I know where it will go - so hopefully next apring!! Nothing like the smell of clothes that have dried on the line!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a clothesline. True, I don't like stiff jeans, but there is just something so great about clothes drying outside in the breeze under a warm sun. Too bad there is no warm sun here!
ReplyDeleteI love the environmentally-friendliness of clotheslines, and that wonderful smell! I tried a makeshift clothesline at my apartment, but it didn't go so well with the amount of space we had..
ReplyDeleteYou did yours so artfully- whether it was on purpose or not!
OOOh my gosh...I am with you 110%...clothes placed outside are so wonderful...I always place my linens on a drying rack to dry in the fresh sunshine and sheets....well there is nothing like them is there??? Thank you for sharing...I can almost smell your laundry...your photo is wonderful.
