The Pirate Coast by Richard Zacks
The Pirate Coast is the true story of the United States first covert mission, to find Hamet Karamanli, brother of the Bashaw of Tripoli in the early 1800's. The goal was to place Hamet in power, hoping he would be more friendly to the young United States than his brother.
"The written orders I here hand you....are intended to disguise the real object of your expedition, which is to proceed with Mr. Eaton to Alexandria in search of Hamet Bashaw, the rival brother and legitimate sovereign of the reigning bashaw of Tripoli..."
What's on your nightstand?
Hey girl,
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. Boy, we've been messing around Tripoli for a long while.
I'm reading a pirate book too! It was written by a friend, Dave Ebright.

This is his second in a series. He's working on #3 now. I hope we see them at the movies one day. Kids would love it.
I hope you're having a fine summer.
