New in the Etsy Shop

This cute little basket is new in the Bede Sisters' etsy shop for Halloween. It's sized just right for holding Halloween candy, either next to your door or while out trick-or-treating.

These adorable little baskets were created for a special custom order, as party favors. They are about 4.5 in high, not including the handle.

I'm thinking of adding them as a custom order option in the shop. Can't you see them as favors, not just for birthdays, but also for weddings, anniversaries and graduation parties?

Another Fabulous Etsy Seller

Can you fall in love with a new ironing board cover? I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes". I recently purchased one from City Chic Country Mouse on Etsy. They are a mother-daughter team, with the goal of making "some of your not-so-fun chores more enjoyable."

City Chic Country Mouse is home to some of the prettiest laundry essentials anywhere. I requested an ironing board cover in a fabric which wasn't currently in the shop. They answered quickly, and they got the fabric I wanted and had my new cover to me lightning fast.

Treat from a Wonderful Etsy Seller

Just the other day, in my mailbox, was this yummy little treat--a set of four blueberry screenprinted napkins from Tina Produce. I was happily browsing on Etsy, when I saw a picture of these beautiful napkins and ordered them right away.

I love to use blueberries in my kitchen, in my window treatment, my dishes, wall art and knick-knacks. So, of course, these fantastic napkins had to join the collection.

Tina Produce also has strawberry and raspberry napkins, as well as T-shirts and totes. Check out the shop and find a treasure that's calling your name!

Mudroom Tile and New Bags in the Bede Sisters shop

The tile in the mudroom is grouted and I'm getting anxious to get the room decorated!

I also added two new bags to the Bede Sisters etsy shop. They are gorgeous cotton prints from Michael Miller. The bags have a generous 14 pockets, including eight outside pockets and six inside pockets. There are also elastic holders inside for sippy cups or water bottles. Both bags come with a coordinating wristlet key chain.

Nook Cover

I love my new Nook e-reader! It's very convenient for taking reading material anywhere I go and I can take loads of "books" without having to bring a huge tote bag (although Bede Sisters has some great totes!).

The pattern for my nook cover came from a great etsy seller, Birdiful Stitches. She has several patterns for nook/kindle/ipad covers and the patterns are delivered right to your email inbox.

A Fabulous On-line Tea Shop

I just wanted to let you all know about the best tea shop on the web, in my humble opinion. It's called Dream Weaver Shop and they are on Etsy. I've tried several of their teas and have been impressed with all of them. Customer service is wonderful and shipping is lightning fast.

The Earl of Mint tea is very good and it is just what it sounds like--earl grey tea (what could be better?) blended with mint. Ahhhh....

Dream Weaver's Southern Peach Green tea is perfect for the southern belle in you--delicate green tea with a bit of peach.

I've saved the best for last, the Chocolate Chai Tea. And, yes, it has actual chocolate in it. Just savor that thought for a moment... chocolate in your tea.

Quick Updates

It's been busy around here! The etsy shop got busy there for a few days. Our Christmas stockings made from vintage quilts and quilt tops sold well, although I think people are done shopping for decorations at this point. I'm hoping customers will go for a scarf of two. I mean, I'm offering a free upgrade to priority shipping! What's not to like?

Domino the Cat is much better. He was patrolling the downstairs last night, and not a moment too soon. We've seen "evidence" of a mouse. We spent a lot of money on you, Domino. Time to earn your keep, buddy.


Lori, my sister-in-law and business partner, has been nursing a sore elbow for several days and finally went to the doctor. She appears to have fractured it. She's renting my college daughter for the weekend to clean, decorate and wrap gifts. Seriously, Lori, LET ANN DO IT.

And last, but not least, I'm starting to choose spring fabrics for our etsy shop. Love those bright colors!

I have been on the lookout for a large fabric basket, but hadn't seen one I liked (for less than a bazillion dollars). Turns out, it was a good thing that I didn't find one, because it got my creative juices flowing.

My New Wallet

I got a new wallet last week and I just love it. I bought it from Ripenstitch on Etsy. She does great work. I feel so organized now. This wallet has a place for cards (ID, credit cards, library cards, etc), cash, checkbook and change. I used to search constantly for those things in my purse as well as often misplacing them. Now it's all in one very pretty place. Thanks, Ripenstitch!
